Year—2019

This project documents Anton Alvarez work at Fonderia Battaglia. Anton explores bronze adapting his self-built machine called the Extruder. A large metal cylinder hanging with chains from the ceiling, the Extruder uses an electric motor to exert more than six thousand pounds of pressure on wax, pushing it through different moulds and shapes. The wax is then flowing into a large cold swimming pool and into the hands of the artist who guides the extrusion and adjusts its final shape.
